curve-ball

Funny how right when life is going along so peacefully, much more peaceful than it ever has, someone will throw a curve-ball and your whole world can change in an instant....
When I was at church today, part of the closing prayer was for people that are going through major financial struggles, regardless of the reason. A thought slipped into my mind that, thanks be to God, we are not struggling as much as we have always done in the past. We are still living paycheck to paycheck pretty much, but we are by no means scrounging for change just to buy necessities, wondering how we would make it through to next payday. We've been so proud of ourselves for working hard and even saving a tiny bit.
I guess it's true what they say, "pride cometh before the fall", because the second I pulled up in the driveway after church I could see ~C. on the phone and could tell that something was wrong, and after hearing a little more of the conversation, the message was clear that he's suddenly, without any warning, been laid off from his job.
Now here was an instant crossroads. One direction being anger and resentment, the other realizing that this is a mixed blessing and that another door, a better door will be open. We could scream at the unfairness of it all because the job was given to someone willing to take $3.00 less an hour, or to be grateful that now C. has the opportunity to find a new job where he is treated with fairness and respect, as well as given better hours and possibly even benefits. Something that he had neither the time nor the energy to look for until now. And I have faith that he WILL find this. He works so hard and is always a true and loyal employee, the right place will be lucky to have him on their team, wherever that place might be.
Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we go through this trying time. We do realize there are much worse things going on in this world right now, and that for us it could be so much worse, so just a tiny little prayer would be very much appreciated.

Till next time, take care....
~Tiff
