unsettled...

For the past few weeks I have been so out of sorts... scattered and anxious, restless and unsure. I'm burnt out and exhausted, and as I expressed to a good friend, I just feel like running away and becoming a missing person for a while.
And it seems that the more I pray about it, the harder things get. I pray for patience and I am flooded with irritability. I pray for understanding and compassion and I am filled with intolerance. What is up with that?!
At times like this, when I am filled with such anxiety, it becomes so easy to find fault in everyone around me (most of the time this unfortunately falls on my husband), when I should really be focusing on what it is that is going on within myself. What is it that I'm letting control my life other than God? Because I know it to be true that when we turn our focus toward anything but Him, everything will most certainly begin to go haywire.
Do you find that the harder you try to control everything around you, the more out of control things get?
I think it's time to take a step back and refocus my sight on what is most important in life. To take a deep breath, exhale, and remind myself that life is too short and sweet to waste on being agitated and upset all the time. To clear my head and heart of the negative, making room for happiness and serendipity...

Thanks for sharing that and for being real. I have felt the same way for the past month. Read Psalm 139...especially verses 1-16 and 23-24. God knows you and wants you to lean on Him. And don't forget about our enemy. He wants you to be stressed out, hopeless, and confused and therefore less effective in serving God. Keep your eyes up toward the Heavens! God Bless You!

Hey Miss Tiff....
You know...when change is coming in my life in one form or the other..that is when I get this stuff going on.
It is like birthing pains of something new in your life. You just have to find a way to get centered, and watch for what is opeing up.
Prayers headed your way dear friend!!!
HUGS,
Debbie

One of the more memorable sermons I attended last year spoke of the power of prayer. The pastor actually "warned you" about being careful of what you prayed for. If you pray for patience, God may bless your life with a lot of life experiences and circumstances which require you to develop your ability to be patient. I thought that was pretty profound.

While those are probably not exactly words of comfort, they may give you a different perspective as you travel across some speed bumps of life.
