good day...

I want to thank everyone for their well wishes and good luck comments! I'm not actually sick, although it probably sounded like it in yesterday's post. I have always had awful problems with my sinuses, so every once in a while I'll take something for them, like Nyquil Sinus. I don't know about you, but with this colder weather, having the heat on wreaks havoc on my poor little nostrils! lol

Anyway, the interview went well this morning, although I was really nervous, and I HATE the feeling of being nervous!!! I always second guess my words and actions, ACK! But the person I met with was awesome and a real pleasure to finally meet, I've seen her around in church many times but hadn't ever spoken with her until now. So with all that being said, she's going to pass on my information to the person that sets up the volunteer orientation, who will then check my references and get back to me on when I can start. I'm so excited to finally get going with this! I expressed to her that my ultimate "goal" is to work with children in the mission field and she stated that there are a lot of great things in the works at this time and extended an invitation to sit in on some meetings regarding that! Another small step toward a bigger purpose!

So I know that yesterday's post title didn't exactly match with what I wrote, I meant for it to, but got sidetracked and ended up posting without explaining that this is going to be the first time I've actually followed through on working toward the plan that God has set before me. I have always had good intentions in the past but ended up ducking out at the last minute, either from lack of confidence or fear of commitment, or probably a little/lot of both! So that's what that post title was all about, that it really is for real this time! lol

Church was awesome this morning, we are so fortunate to have a pastor that really cares about people and their salvation, and it always comes across in the words that he speaks to us all. Before service this morning, while we were all waiting for things to start, I was watching him with his wife, who is the pastor of our music ministry. She was crying for some reason and I watched as he took her aside and placed his arms around her with so much kindness and love and spoke gently into her ear, no doubt acknowleding whatever was going on with her and validating her feelings, or at least that's the way it seemed to me. I have to just say that I was so humbled by what I witnessed, something that wasn't a show to anyone else, just a simple act of kindness to the woman who shares his life with him. I feel so blessed to have this man as the person who leads us in worship each week.

So, everyone, how's it coming with your Christmas plans? What will you all be doing this year, will you be sticking with tried and true traditions or will you be trying something new this time around? Usually we would have our tree up already but I guess we'll be doing it all this Tuesday since Chad will be off work and I am home on vacation. Looking forward to getting everything all decorated, my favorite part is the very first night when all of the lights in the house go off and the tree lights go on, that has always been magical to me. And this year we are lucky enough to have my daughter and her family living here with us temporarily so we'll get to see the boys' excitement on Christmas morning, can't wait for that! They are getting a V-Motion, which is the children's version of the Wii, sort of... I got them Kung Fu Panda for that, should be lots of fun for everyone!!

Well, I think that's about it for now, hope you're all having a great weekend and that you're all keeping your tootsies nice and toasty in the cccccoooollllldddd weather!

Till next time...

You Are Flannel Pajamas

You seek comfort above everything else. You rather feel good than look good.

You are a very relaxed person, especially when you're surrounded by your favorite things and people.

You are a homebody. Home is the place where you can truly be yourself.

You are likely to wear pajamas a lot. In fact, you often change into your pj's the minute you get home!

Yeah Tiff! Children's ministry is so fun (and challenging at times...)

Hope you have a good week.

Many blessings in the kid's ministry. It sounds like a lot of fun. Kid's are such a blessing even though they can be exhausting.

I can't imagine anything better than to be able to share Christmas morning with your little grandson, I am seriously jealous.
