for kelly

Many moons ago there were two young girls who met and quickly became the very best of friends.
Over the years they would experience a world of different adventures and secrets, happiness and troubles together. And there would form an unbreakable bond between the two. So many days and nights they spent together, talking deep into the night, laughing until their sides ached and tears streamed down their cheeks... those are the sweetest kind of tears you know, ones that come from laughter.
These girls were fearless in their own right, independent and strong, survivors in every sense of the word, they leaned on each other through thick and thin, knowing and trusting that in a world full of harsh judgement they were always safe when in the presence of each other.
Time went by, the girls turned into women, and eventually, as happens in so many cases, they would venture out on their own, testing the waters without each other, unaware of the direction their lives would take and that they would eventually become separated for many years to come.
One of the women decided to try and find the other, only to be told that she had died shortly before that. The grief was almost unbearable as she realized that she'd lost what once was her very best friend, and never had the chance to say goodbye.
Then one day, after 20 long years, it was discovered that the information she'd been given was in fact untrue and these two friends happened upon each other again by pure coincidence. How incredible it was to discover that there was still a bond between them, and while it would take time to get to know each other once again, they were both so excited to have found each other and looked forward to each new thing that they would learn about each other and the directions that their lives had taken.
They never forgot each other and the friendship they once had. When someone is a part of your soul, it is next to impossible for that to happen.
This video is for you Kelly. I never forgot you and all that we experienced together as young girls growing into fearless young women. You were never just my friend, you were my sister. I look forward to all that is to come now that we have found each other again. All of the stories we will tell and memories we will uncover. And I can only hope that someday, a long time down the road from now, we will be reminiscing about the two young women that grew old as sister-friends.

YES, it is an awesome thing! Funny how you don't really "get it" until you're older and are looking back on things...
Thanks Deb :o)
