forgiveness...

Today I was fortunate enough to have the chance to listen to Nicky Cruz give his testimony as a guest speaker at our church. I hope that someday you will also have that chance, it's a life changing experience...
You might be wondering what the title of this post has to do with anything, but forgiveness is what Mr. Cruz spoke about this morning, and it is what is on my heart this afternoon. He spoke about where he came from, born into a family of 18 children to parents who worshiped Satan and practiced witchcraft. He suffered terrible abuse at the hands of his mother and eventually ended up falling into a dark world of gangs and violence. But in the end he was able to forgive his mother, just as God forgave him.
As he spoke about the things that happened to him and how he came to know Christ, he wept openly telling us that he hates to tell the details of his life, but that he feels that it is what he must do as his calling. I feel so fortunate to have been witness to his testimony and hope that some day I will have the chance to listen to him speak again, what a humble and genuine man he is.
He's got a movie coming out soon, it's in production at this time, but I'm really looking forward to it!

As for what's been going on here at the Cross casa, not really much of anything new. I wish I had something to write about, but I'm afraid you'd all be bored to tears! lol
We've been enjoying the cooler weather and it's always terrific when we can finally open up the house and let some fresh air in. This morning I got a cute little pumpkin to set on the front porch and am hoping to put up a few more decorations this week, maybe some orange lights for the porch or something, not really sure yet. How about you, do you normally decorate for the different seasons, and if so, do you decorate inside or outside, or both? Would love to hear about the things that you do to celebrate this time of year!
Not much news on the job search for C.... There's a guy up at the university just up the street that is interested in hiring him, he just has to get the okay from the head guy. Please keep this in your prayers, it would be a great opportunity for him once he got his foot in the door.
Well, I think I'm going to go be lazy and watch some movies for a bit. Haven't had much of a chance to really relax this week so I'm going to take advantage of the rest of the day before returning to work in the morning.
Hope you're all having a great weekend and are doing something to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather!
Oh, and while it's on my mind, I'd like to ask you all to keep everyone in the Gulf Coast area in your prayers. So many are still without electricity, and for some, that is the least of their worries, as many have lost their homes and all of their belongings... It's such a sad situation for all involved, and I know that your prayers would be appreciated.

Hey Tiff...
Those lazy evenings are good for the soul too. And I had already been warned off of Margot at the Wedding!!!

I remember reading Nicky's book years ago, so I think the movie coming out is great....did he say anything about who would be in it??

And I will continue to remember your hubby's job search in my prayers...
Hugs to you!!!
Deb
