trivial... really...

When you are going to dinner with someone and they ask where you would like to go, what do you do?
Do you say you don't know in hopes that they will decide.
Or maybe you say you don't care because you feel the need for the other person to be completely comfortable and happy the whole time, so you would rather they pick the place?
Or do you pick the place and leave it at that?
Just curious....

I just usually say...I don't care...wherever you want to go...I'm a total pushover, because I LOVE food and can find something ANYWHERE one chooses! :)

Most of the time I say "I don't know" or " I don't care, what do you want?" for the same reason as Shelle above, also because I am just happy not to have to cook that I would find something I would eat anywhere, but sometimes I am craving a certain type of food, that is usually when "I" do the asking and then I say "I want Chinese, [or Mexican or what ever] how's that sound to you?

My husband hates it when I say "I don't know" or "I don't care." He thinks I should make up my mind, because he wouldn't ask me if he had some place in mind etc, he also says sometimes that it makes him feel like I really "don't care" about going out when that isn't what I am saying, in other words he gets mixed signals, when I am saying "I don't care" I am saying "It doesn't matter as long as I am with you, I'll go anywhere you want to go" and he will read it as "what ever, it doesn't matter" or something like that. Anyway, I have to be careful of how I say it or if he's in one of his moods he will take it to mean I don't 'care' and we end up staying at home!!!! LOL

Oh I'm pretty opinionated about where to eat- so, I definitely make suggestions!!!! Cause I luv to eat! It's a big deal for me!

Hubs and I argue about this all the time. He says where do you want to eat. I say I don't care. Then, when he mentions a place, i say NOT THAT. And, it goes on from there.

Thanks for the great answers everyone!
That's what happens with me, we end up getting in an argument because neither one of us wants to pick a place! And then when he finally picks one I don't care for his choice hahah poor guy.

If it's my hubby: I'll totally throw out suggestions, but if it's friends, I ALWAYS want them to pick :)
